EBS Heritage were engaged to conduct a Cultural Heritage Survey on the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia. The survey was conducted with Narungga Aboriginal Community Representatives and aimed to identify Aboriginal and European heritage along part of what will become the “Walk the Yorke” trail. EBS were also involved in research and input for proposed information and interpretation panels along the trail, including some information on a very large colony of wombats living in the area.
Along with helping to protect and highlight the heritage of this area and increase local awareness of these special places, this project also allowed EBS Heritage Archeologists a fantastic opportunity to hear wonderful stories told by the Narungga elders.
